 For the first time, we offer a research-based program especially for young children from ages 18 months to 9 years old.  This curriculum is modeled after Johns-Hopkins research which has been shown that early childhood musical  development leads to a greater understanding of math and science early on as well. In this program, children learn how to play an instrument and read music notation and symbols while developing their cognitive and reasoning skills.   Through this program, children will have a head start for when they progress to private lessons.

The  Curriculum
During classes, one way children will be learning music theory  is through fun crafts. They will be learning rhythm, pitch , music notation , symbols and key signatures in a manner similar to the way they learn numbers , colors, and letters.  They will learn to play on  different rhythmic and pitched instruments to implement this new knowledge  in real time. Through this, they are  applying what they learn which enhances their ability to learn and reason.   The children will play in groups, which develops social skills, confidence and learning how to play music along with others.   They will grow with music!

The Instruments

Throughout the year in class, we will give a  bag of several instruments  to take home. These are yours to keep so that your child can practice  with you and continue the joy of learning. The instruments include: Rhythm sticks,  a Tambourine,  Harmonica, and a Flutophone.

The Classes

Music Fun Time Classes will begin September 2019.   Classes are 30 minutes each week.  Classes are grouped according to age and are limited to six students per class. The cost is $107/month per student.  Current class times are according to the schedule listed below.  More will be added as needed.  

Fall Class Schedule
Tuesdays  10:30-11 a.m.  | For ages 18 - 2.5 years
Tuesdays 1:30 - 2 p.m.      | For ages   3 - 4  years
Tuesdays  4 -  4:30 p.m.    |  For ages 5-7 years
Tuesdays  4:30 - 5 p.m.     |  For ages  8-9 years

Music Fun Time Free Trial Class

We are offering a chance for you to  try out our Music Fun Time   class for free. Parents can click "Register Here" to schedule a one time trial for your child for any of our regularly scheduled classes. Fill out the form and we will contact you directly to schedule the trial class.   You can also call us at (970)716-7262 to schedule a trial class.

The Camps

Music Fun Time Day Camps offer a great way  for your child to get exposure to our curriculum and from there he/she can easily move into our regular weekly classes.  We'll even offer you a discount to get you started if you enroll in regular classes directly from  camp.  Music Fun Time camps are offered to children as young as 3 up to the age of 9 and are the only camps in the Yampa Valley to accept 3 and 4 year olds. Each day, campers will learn a new music concept and make a craft to help them remember it.  All campers will get to play the instruments in our Music Fun Time rhythm kits and will be making their own instruments to take home! All camp sessions will be limited to a maximum of 8 campers.  The following sessions are available:

Session 1: Ages 8-9 years - June  15 - 19, 2020 from 9 a.m.-12 noon        $245 Earlybird price! Book before April 31!
Session 2: Ages 5-7 years - June 15 - 19, 2020 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.             $195 Earlybird price!  Book before April 31!
